learning to be a mom

This picture was taken a month ago, but I think it really illustrates what Isaac endures day in and day out. For the most part the girls are really helpful. This afternoon, Carly really showed me her mothering instincts. I had Isaac in my arms and he was fussing. Carly came up to me and she said, mom, hold him like this. she showed me with her arms how to cradle the baby. and then she told me to rock him like this. (really slowly) and sing to him like this "rock abye baby....." so i did exactly as she said and showed me. and immediately he relaxed and he started to drift off. i had to keep myself from laughing. my 4 year old is teaching me how to be a mom.
