Christmas Eve Nativity

Carly as Mary

Annelise as Mary

In Fewkes family tradition, on the night before Christmas, we read the account in Luke of the birth of the Savior while the children (and sometimes adults) dress up and play the parts of Joseph, Mary, Shepherds, Wise Men, Angel. Tonight Carly wanted to be an angel, and Annelise wanted to be Mary, but after trying on the costumes for a little bit they decided to switch roles. Nick wanted to be a shepherd, and that left Isaac to be Joseph. Mom and Dad were our wise men. Jake was our narrator.
At the end of the night Annelise favored us with a special musical number, "old McDonald", a Christmas favorite at our house.

trunk or treat

Nick, when he won the costume contest.

Here is our Halloween picture taken before we left for trunk or treat on October 30th. Carly is a green skeleton, and she grabbed that st. patrick's day headband from the costume box as we ran out the door. Nick is a penguin from club penguin. He won the pirates hat at the school fall festival we went to the night before, but didn't end up wearing the hat the rest of the night. We figured the hat might confuse people on what he was going as. He ended up winning the costume contest for kids 12 and under at trunk or treat. Isaac went as Dr. Fu Manchu. He is wearing the outfit that Uncle Glen brought home for Nicolas from Taiwan. Annelise is a pig, and at preschool she also donned wings - a flying pig.

missing his long flowing blonde locks

first haircut October 11th

Isaac turned 1

Isaac is holding a little toy tractor that he has loved playing with since his birthday. On the morning of his birthday, I told the other kids to go into their rooms and find a toy they'd like to give to Isaac for his birthday. They quickly found one and wrapped them up. He really loved the things they chose for him.

Congratulations big kid! Since his birthday, Isaac has gotten his first haircut, and started taking his first steps. He's a good little buddy, and already is self sufficient finding crumbs on the floor, whatever anyone graciously left behind for him.

Apple of my eye

Family and friends,
One of my homework assignments, as a parent of Carly, is to fill out an 8x11" apple of why Carly is the apple of my eye, (and your eyes). The instructions say to have aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends, family write down why Carly is the apple of your eye. So let's hear why Carly is so great in the comments or email me! (It has to be turned in by Oct 22)

My good friend Natasha did our family pictures again this year and I absolutely love them! I'll be putting two of each kid up on my wall in sort of a gallery type thing. Here's Isaac.

More Snowflower

Snowflower

A very sweet couple in our ward let us stay in the cabin they rented and weren't able to use. It is located right by Emigrant Gap. The cabin was absolutely perfect. It had a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and even a futon in the front room for the kids to sleep on. We were a short walk away from the small beach on a beautiful lake. This campground also had a great lodge with a pool table, air hockey, and foosball. It also had a pool. It was an awesome vacation, complete with fishing and even paddle boats. Here are some picture highlights.
