oh that carly

we've been working with carly on not yelling and screaming every time she needs something. she needs to ask nicely. so today she wanted help on the computer and she yells, "mommy!" so i said, "try it a different way, carly" so she yells, "grandma!" i guess i need to be more specific next time. here is a picture from today.

Nick is my joker

I understand that a lot of times when you need to give a lot of background info. for a joke, the joke normally fails. with that being said, here is some background info.
Carly, has been potty trained for a long time now, more than a year i think. in the last couple of weeks she's been pooping in her underwear. getting it everywhere. today at mom's house, she pooped a little so I put her in a pull-up. then she pooped a lot in the pull-up, and i told her she would need to stay in it for awhile. (I had just changed her!) she was crying. and Nick's response to Carly was, "Does it feel nice?"
Later today Nick asked my permission to Have a good day. I said "yes, you may". then he asked if he could have a bad day. no, i said. then i said, can i have a silly day? then he said, "can i have a rated R day?"

Ward Christmas party

Carly is a wiseman. Nick is a shepherd, but one that was thoughtful enough to bring a gift. Annelise is of course, an angel, but she knew that the dolly playing baby Jesus, was her dolly. She did a good job sharing, mostly.

Annelise wasn't sure, but didn't fuss. Carly would not look up, at all. She didn't cry, but didn't want to be so close to Santa. Nick got on Santa's lap after this picture was taken and had a good talk with Santa.

Carly prefers photos with Mrs. Claus. She's not nearly as scary, and she's the one that gives out the candy canes.

who stinks

At dinner time sometimes we play a game called "I'm thinking of an animal."
It was Nick's turn and he said "I'm thinking of an animal, it stinks, ...." and before he could add more clues, Carly starts guessing.
Is it poop? No
Is it Annelise? No
Is it me? No
Is it Dad? No
Is it yourself? No
(The answer was skunk, and it looks like according to Carly there is only one in the family that doesn't stink.)
